Mary Lawlor is a long time Treadfit client and die hard regular. She amazes us with her incredible fitness levels! Hear what Mary shared about her experience at Treadfit, “Treadfit is my happy place. Well, that is a slight exaggeration. Treadfit is the place I work the hardest and feel the best about having been there. I started going to Treadfit shortly after it opened. (I read about the opening in DNAInfo Chicago – still sad it has gone away). I immediately booked a class and was sweating with the best, both instructors and classmates. People of all ages and fitness levels can feet comfortable here. The instructors are great about how to modify both pace and exercise for your own fitness level. The kind of exercise I get at Treadfit has been shown to be the best to counteract the effects of aging (as a physician, I had to throw in one evidence-based piece of information). At 70, I am lucky to be able to count myself among the regulars at Treadfit. I hope that being there helps my luck continue.” Thank you Mary!

“It all started out when my daughter and I wanted to win the 10 for 14 Treadfit t-shirt during the challenges this summer. We started working out together and found that the Treadfit classes were fun, challenging, motivating, and extremely social! We always see people we know from the neighborhood and many new friends have been made too. The instructors all add their unique personalities to the workouts and they believe in each one of their clients. They provide a great knowledge base about fitness, health and proper running and lifting techniques. They motivate, challenge and encourage. Meredith is one of our favorite originals! She shared with us her experience at Treadfit: “I have always been a runner and love to run outside. I was a little skeptical about swapping out the streets of Beverly for a treadmill but after the first class I was hooked. Each instructor brings a unique approach. No two classes are ever alike. I am always challenged and encouraged to push myself to either run a little faster or lift a little more. After 2 years of Treadfit, I feel stronger and more confident with my running. There is a fun and positive vibe at Treadfit. I find myself popping out of bed with excitement on Saturday mornings for Jenny’s 7 am class. I’m so glad I tried a class 2 years ago. “I have been going to Treadfit for just over a year and I can honestly say it is the best full body workout I have ever done. I thought I would be intimidated by the group setting, but I find it to be more motivating.The high energy and good music within the group encourages me to give 100%. “I had been doing yoga for years, but the cardio side of my workout was always missing. “Running” scared me, so I never gave it a try. I couldn’t be happier that I changed my mind. I attended my first class when I was 5 months pregnant and thought it would be good for me to get out and do anything. And I was right. I could go at my own pace and not feel overwhelmed. Going to class actually helped me to recover faster postpartum and gave me the much-needed energy to get through life with a toddler and newborn.

Lindsey has been a regular at Treadfit since our open. Hear what she shared about her experience at Treadfit. “I started coming to Treadfit right after it first opened. I’m a neighborhood exercise class junkie, and Treadfit is everything I love: intense workouts, good people, awesome instructors, and accommodating class times. All the instructors are phenomenal, but my personal favorite masochists are Colette and Caitlin. They take the “you’re stronger than you know” mantra to a whole new level, and I appreciate them for that. Since coming to treadfit, I’ve shaved minutes off my 5 and 15k, increased my endurance and stamina, and my plank game is on point. It’s also great seeing the transformation of members. Keep calm and tread on! “
Colin O’Neill started with Treadfit this year, and has quickly become one of our favorite clients! Hear what Colin shared about his experience at Treadfit:
“I joined Treadfit in March, looking to shake up my running routine. By that point I had been running seriously for over four years and had completed five half marathons and my first full marathon. My training, though, had reached a plateau and I found myself struggling with nagging injuries that never seemed to go away. I had neglected strength training for too long, and I knew it was time to give Treadfit a try. From the very first class I knew I was hooked. Almost immediately I felt fitter and faster and the gains just kept coming with each class I took. Treadfit has made me a more confident runner and given me the courage to go after running goals I never imagined. From running my first sub-20 minute 5k to eyeing a huge PR at this year’s Chicago Marathon, I know Treadfit will get me to the starting line injury-free and stronger than ever.

Laura started Treadfit in January and has become one of our favorite regulars! Hear what she shared about her experience at Treadfit:
“I finally started attending Treadfit classes regularly back in January because the thrifty shopper in me couldn’t pass up the “New Year New You” class package deal. Up until that point, I had been wanting to start, but had been finding and successfully using, every excuse in the book to not go. Whether I didn’t have anyone to watch the baby, I couldn’t possibly make it the four blocks to the gym in time, or I couldn’t find matching socks. Finally, I sucked it up and went with my friend to one of Collette’s Saturday classes, followed by one of her Sunday classes. I wrestled with going to a 5am class, thinking I couldn’t do it because the baby would wake up, or I would be too tired at work, yada yada, yada, until finally, I did it! It was with Cathy, and it was awesome! I was hooked. 5am wasn’t as bad as I thought, plus class was finished by 5:50 and now I was a few steps ahead for the day. I was worried I’d be tired at work, but it was just the opposite. I had more energy and I was in a better mood. As the weeks passed, I started to feel stronger in and out of class. From increasing my easy pace in class, to double-timing the stairs at work instead of the elevator, I felt great. And, the best part about it is, I still do it nearly 6 months later. I’m still loving going to class! The challenges are great motivation and the teachers are always making changes to classes, keeping me interested and wanting more. I’m so glad I finally cleared the mental hurdle and started. I’ll never stop!

“I started coming to Treadfit regularly last January, attending on average 4 days/week. It’s truly the best full-body workout I’ve ever done! I’ve never been a strong runner, so initially I was very intimidated to start. But today, I look forward to each class, as I know it’s the perfect way to start my day! Each class, complete with treadmill challenges, strength training (my personal favorite), and floor exercises are fun AND challenging, but the best part is how you can go at your own pace. The instructors are ALL excellent, and give such great personal attention to each and every one. From the exercises to the upbeat music, every class is different – keeping it fresh and exciting. Personally, I love checking my workout off my “to-do” list by 7 a.m…beyond physically making me feel great, the early class gives me a mental boost too! I love Treadfit and am so thankful it’s in the neighborhood! I feel SO much stronger (and better) than I did this time last year. Thank you to Jenny and ALL the Treadfit instructors for helping me get into shape!”
